MediaWiki安装准备

在windows下单独安装PHP+MySQL环境是件繁琐的事情.

• 空间配置：在Windows下需要配置PHP+MYSQL+Apache，配置成功后，才能进行安装，一般情况下配置这个比较复杂，对于新手来说是比较困难的，即使你安装成功了，随便在那里出个问题都够你呛得，所幸现在有了一些优秀的WAMP套装软件，能简单完成环境搭建,使用WAMP5搭建好服务器环境，加上mediawiki的安装过程，总计大约需要十分钟时间。

MediaWiki安装

• 下载成功后，解压缩文件，这里假设我们使用的是WAMP5傻瓜包配置的环境(详细内容参见：wamp5)，我们把解压的文件复制到www目录下
• mediawiki程序拷贝到该环境中后，然后在浏览器中执行“ http://localhost/index.php ”就可以运行。
• 安装步骤与MediaWiki安装教程中的一样，这里就不重复介绍了。

安装报错：PHP is linked with old MySQL client libraries. If you are using a MySQL 4.1 server and have problems connecting to the database, see http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/old-client.html for help.
我用的是WAMPServer2.0i 版本，其中的MySQL版本是5.0以上（具体忘记了），楼主知道是为什么吗？

我也报类似错误，后来查了mysql5.5的语法，发现是和mysql5.5不兼容导致。mysql5.5开始不再支持TYPE=InnoDB 的写法，必须用engine=InnoDB .

failed with error code "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'TYPE=InnoDB' at line 17 (localhost)".
摘自mysql5.5语法说明：
The older TYPE option was synonymous with ENGINE. TYPE was deprecated in MySQL 4.0 and removed in MySQL 5.5. When upgrading to MySQL 5.5 or later, you must convert existing applications that rely on TYPE to use ENGINE instead.
